hand made pipes

about me

My name is Branko Sesa. I was born in 1962 in Croatia, but I have been living in Turin since 1994. I have shown interest in woodwork from a very young age, but only when I moved to Italy I developed a genuine desire in pipes’ production.
When I first started with my attempts, in the early 2000, I luckily met Mauro Gilli, a well-known artisan who introduced me to the tricks of the trade. Since I am naturally curious, I tried to work with different materials: briar, black oak, olivewood, lemonwood, strawberrywood and St Lucie cherrywood. Eventually, I opted for the processing of briar, black oak and olivewood because I find them more durable and aesthetically pleasing.
I also hand-craft tampers and mouthpieces for toscano cigars, mixing different materials to innovate their well-known classic design.
I pay great attention to my pieces, from the selection of raw materials to the finishing of the product. Every pipe is an attempt to improve technical realization. In terms of aesthetic, my aim is to create an easily distinguishable signature style.
I also take care of pipes’ maintenance and repair.
